Oftentimes signage can serve as a marker to convey important details about a historical site. Although the sign itself may not be historic, it is drawing attention to a significant spot that has withstood the test of time. So, when constructing a sign that is intended to make a moment in history, it is important that the design reflect this desire. As can be seen with the post and panel signs built to commemorate the Cape St. George Lighthouse built in 1852 and rebuilt in 2008, restored to its original glory. The design of these signs reflect not only the look and feel of a lighthouse, but also conveys a sense of history, and as with most Monument Signs reflects permanence and significance.
